Story Title : Dal, Rice and Roti ( With Message)

When first time dal was made, both Rice and Roti were overjoyed. They saw their soul mate in Dal. Dal was yellow in color and it was soft and tender, Rice and Roti both wanted to be wrapped by Dal, hence a fierce competition between rice and roti had started. In order to make an everlasting impression on Dal, both had started to crown jewel on their body. Once rice rolled himself in Jeera, and presented himself in front of Dal but soon he found out that roti was also not far behind as roti sunk himself in Ghee. Rice stepped up the game and presented himself in various forms, sometimes he becomes Pulav, sometimes he covered himself in masala and become biryani but every time roti leveled him with its ornaments as Tandoori Naan, Butter Kulcha and Roomali roti.

Dal was impressed by both of them, sometimes she fell for rice and sometimes her feeling grew stronger for roti. Dal was in a dilemma. It is easy to choose between good and evil but choosing between the two good is always difficult. Eventually one day Dal called both of them, requested them to sit in her house. Once they were comfortable, Dal spoke “look, I know both of you want to know my decision, but choosing one of you over other would be injustice to the other one"
Both of them were at their edge, all they wanted to know the name of the winner.
Dal continued “besides that, my feeling is same for both of you, I am in love with both of you "
Both were bemused and were confused but they were at least happy to know that she loves them.  They let her continue.

After a brief pause to let them grasp this knowledge she spoke again "hence I have decided to follow the old tradition of polyandry and I would like to accept both of you as my soul mates”
Since that day onwards Dal, rice and roti are together and their existence feed millions of people.

On 16 Oct 2015, Dal Prices skyrocket to almost 200 Rs per Kg,

The above exorbitant price had forced poor to separate Dal from her soul mates and her spouses were eaten alone with bunch of onions and chili at various places.  We request Government to let Dal meet her soul mates in Thali of the poor people again. As the Dal, rice and roti are made for each other.
