( Six Words short story)
I would like to share
It’s been a long time since I have written a blog…. The continuation of this story was written a long time ago but because of the constant changes in the life, I couldn’t post it on time. So here I go …
After 2 months ........
“It’s been 2 month and my score is still zero with girls.” I scolded myself.” remember rex, you are not anymore in IIT, be bold, get a girl, get life.”
This thought was punching my head from last few weeks. Eventually one day I decided to step out of my comfort zone. I opened the mental note about the girls. There were three girls in the top: rakhi, payal and rita.
Once a time, my dear friend “fundebaaz” had revealed a secret about beauty. He Said “There is three kinds of beauty in this world. One is natural beauty. 2nd is artificial beauty which has an appeal and to enhance their appeal they use entire range of cosmetic products. 3rd is natural yet appealing.” Obviously this funda comes after drinking six pegs of whisky. I wonder why people give suggestion to others after having few pegs while their own life demands a suggestion.
I reminded myself the words of my dear friend and categorized the three most beautiful girls of the organization.
I firmly thought about Rita she happens to fall on the 2nd category. My callow mind suggested me to pick up the easiest target. I looked at the Rita, she was leaning against the wall of her cubicle. Rita was a traditional Indian girl. She was slightly healthy with respect to her height that enhanced her cuteness which was already showered by her chubby face. Once a wise man told that the nature of the one can be determine by just examine one’s feet. So, I scanned her from toe to head.
She was wearing a sliver sandal with a cross stripe and it was supported by a platform heel. I felt pity for deprived platform which took the entire load yet without complaining. I raised my head to look little bit up and noticed her bright shining patayala pyjama which obviously hid her roundness. The patayala pyjama was so loose that it fluttered while she walks and it was matched up by a bright dark colour salwar; perfectly suits with her fair skin. Her salwar was enough loose to hide the ounce of flab at tummy which may pop up if the armour in form of salwar would not be there.
After reading the several chapters of the book I started to read the Index page, her dazzling face was appearing more round than actually it is. I realize, to touch her face I have to penetrate the several layers of makeup predominately of powder. How come a beautiful girl like her has such a cheap habit of sinking herself into grains of powder? I bet Rita can be used as a good smoke bomb to give cover fire. Though I have calculated the more negative qualities, I took it as blessing in disguise situation; the more negative qualities mean more chance of pick her up so I prepared myself to take her on.
She was eating a daily dose of gossip in the name of tea with her friends when I entered the cafeteria. After contemplating the situation, I decided to wait for the right moment to open up the conversation.
She drifted herself to the counter to have dessert. I seize the opportunity. I placed myself right next to her and I opened up.
“Hi, you must be Rita, I was observing you from over there and I must tell you that I am quite charmed by the way you carry yourself.”
“ya, I noticed that you are noticing me, so you already know my name” she smirked.” And thanks for the compliment but can you please elaborate how did I charmed you.” Damn she is playing hard.
“Famous personality’s name always floats in the air. In the office you are the one who has got the interactive personality and people look after whatever you do.”Though I know what exactly people look after her but to mention that, means reaching the dead end with Rita.
“Pretty good Mr. Iitian, but ...”
“Sorry to interrupt you but my parents has given me a sweet name udit, how about you call me udit.”I objected.
“Very well, Mr. Udit, that was good but it’s not enough to allure me, you should try somewhere else.”
“What... What do you mean? “I demanded.
“Meaning is very clear Udit, try someone else, I have a boyfriend” she was so direct.
“Rita, I was trying to mix up with the people but you don’t seem to be that much interactive personality as I assumed.” I walked out of cafeteria with a hard look on my face.
********************************
Book Rita was closed for me. I was taken aback by the entire incident. There after I indulge myself into the work and decided not to move further. But Heart is “kamina” it always encourages you to take a step even if the consequence of the last step was miserable. Once a wise man said grab the opportunity when it knocks on the door.
After this incident I distanced myself from the glamour world. But What if the glamour itself walk up to you. Payal and I were the same group for a particular project. But I decided to keep up my decision to distant myself. Group was pretty happening. Other than Payal and I there were several different members. But as guided by my brain, I become a favourite of my seniors.
“my dear colleagues, I have called up this meeting to remind all of you about the deadline of the project and I would like all of you to contribute, towards our work motive, I also would like to remind you that your appraisal would be entirely based on your performance so I expect all of you to live up to the expectation.” This might be the oldest dialog in the history of corporate world. Every year, at every office, every employee would have heard this dialog once in a year. Our office was not the exceptional.
“So far I am quite happy with the few people who are living up to the mark, especially Udit.” Now this might be the 1st dialog in the history of corporate world, where a boss has mentioned the name of his employee. I filled with the enthusiasm and the happiness. My eyes were gazing at my boss’s eye. I nodded and gave him a look of smugness. But this bridge of smugness was breached by a one unknown yet beautiful eyes gawking at me constantly. Surprisingly payal was grinning and was staring at me from the corner of her eyes. “Udit, don’t exchange this smile, you had the bad experience in the past and don’t let it repeat again.” but we guys merely have resistance when it comes to dealing with girls. I grinned at her back which was the 1st indication to start a friendship.
To be continued...
